More airlines charge for carrying surf boards
After BA banning surf boards from all their flights, other airlines have moved to make it more (we say prohibitively more) expensive to check your board on flights to surfing holiday destinations.
Air France and KLM have now decided they also will charge – 200 Euros (or – $200) each way for surf boards!
This extra cost can seriously eat into your holiday budget. If you want to bring your board, check with each airline what their charges are before booking.
If you are holidaying with us we offer surf board hire in both France and Jeffrey’s Bay. In France we bring a variety of boards with us so if you are using our boards you get a chance to try some out and see which ones you like riding. We will also match you with a suitable board if you surf regularly but are not bringing your board this time.
If you want to experience the best waves in beautiful locations every day you should come on our surfing holidays. We travel to the best locations to surf on our surfing holidays to SW France and South Africa. On our France surf holiday we travel to Seignosse, SW France. We camp under tall pines and surf the beast beach breaks along this coast. There are miles of white sandy beaches to sunbathe and surf. It really is a surfers paradise! On our South Africa surf holiday to Jeffrey’s Bay we surf the legendary point breaks of Jeffrey’s Bay. The surf is so good here they made a film about it – twice! See the Endless Summer films for all the amazing footage of surfing in South Africa. See our holiday pages for more information about our France surf holiday and our South Africa Surf holiday. If you have any questions we are happy to help – please ask.
