The beautiful beach breaks of Hossegor, les Bourdaines and Seignosse, where we hold our annual France Surf Holiday, will soon host the ASP World Tour where the top 34 surfers will battle it out for the title. With only four events left in the 2011 season the title race is hotting up!

The top 5 rankings are as follows:

1     Kelly Slater             USA
2     Owen Wright          AUS
3     Joel Parkinson        AUS
4     Adriano De Souza  BRA
5     Josh Kerr                AUS

Jeremy Flores (FRA) will have home ground advantage. Like every year, the event will also host the World Final of the Quiksilver King of the Groms, gathering 18 of the best under 16 surfers in the World.

Dogs surf into the record books

Surfing dogs set to the seas last Sunday, with a little help from their owners, and surfed into the record books! Huntington Beach, California played host to the annual Surf Dog competition and records were being broken! Six dogs attempted to break the Guinness World Record for most dogs on a surfboard. Unfortunately the dogs were not able to stay on for the required ten seconds. However Abbie’G, an Australian Kelpie, set the first-ever Guinness World Record for the longest surf ride by a dog. She caught a wave and travelled 65 yards as a Guinness World Record representative monitored the attempt.

Global Surf crew home today

The Global Surf Adventures team are home after a great September surfing in South West France. It has been an amazing France surf holiday with lots of sun, really warm weather, and lots of surfing. Some really big days were accompanied by some small and clean days too. Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed this beautiful area of South West France with us. We hope to see you again soon. Our next holiday is to Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa in May 2012.

Afternoon surf on the menu

We didn’t have our usual dawny surf this morning, as conditions were not suitable. There was some thunder, but the rain has just missed us. We will be surfing this afternoon as the swell has dropped now to about 3ft, so there should be a good little wave at les Bourdaines later.

We had a good time surfing at Cotes des Basques yesterday and it was really hot and sunny.
It’s the World Cup Rugby on in a minute – New Zealand Vs France so everyone is going to the clubhouse to watch the game.  Love to everyone back in the UK and see you soon!
