Cold winds and choppy seas in North Cornwall

It’s tourist season in full swing here in Newquay, and the beaches and roads are jam packed with tourists fighting their way from their campsite to Morrisons to the beach and back again! It’s so bad we try not to drive out and about on a weekend (unless the surf is going off!). All this in the cold northerly winds and cloudy skies! If the surf was pumping none of this would matter, but the surf has not been doing anything! Choppy blown out windswell is not our idea of fun! Not a great summer so far!
Never fear, we are going to a better place! We are off to South West France in September to golden sandy beaches and it’s bound to be bettter weather, cleaner waves and warmer water! Come and join us from £342 a week! See our France surf holiday page for more details.
France Surf Holiday September 9th to 29th

Now we are getting really desperate!! It’s been weeks of blown out windswell here in cloudy Cornwall! Seems like the worst conditions for surfing for ages! Summer is never very good for surfing conditions, but this is taking the biscuit!!
Never fear though…., you can book a surf holiday with us to sunny South West France (see the above pic of sunset surfing) and have a ball on the French beach breaks. We stay in a lovely campsite minutes from the golden sandy beaches and help you to surf better with tips and coaching advice from our fully qualified surf coaches and tour guides. It’s always fun in France. We get to eat great food, surf great waves, sunbathe, drink great wine, (just a little of course!), and watch a bit of the ASP world tour at the end of our trip. Perfect!! Here’s a pic of us doing us that in 2008.

Feeling blue at Fistral?

The weather in Cornwall this year has been disappointing to say the least! And forecasters are not rushing to tell us about a BBQ summer at any point now! Check out the Fistral Webcam yesterday! Look at the dribble windswell surf too! It’s a disgrace!!
But never fear, you can escape! We are off surfing in Seignosse (near Hossegor), France in September, and you can join us for as little as £342! See our France holiday page for all the details, and check out some of the photos of previous surf tours.
The difference in the weather is quite amazing. Yesterday Seignosse had 21C water temperature and was sunny and hot. The surf was small but clean. Temperatures are due to average 31C next week! Ahhhh, bliss!
