SURF HOLIDAYS TO FRANCE & SOUTH AFRICA
France
Pedal Power
Aug 29th
Cycling is the best and cheapest way to get aruond the area in South West France on our France Surf Holiday. You can hire a bike with helmet and bike lock near our campsite for a day or the week.
The roads are very safe to bike on and there are some lovely cycle paths around the woods behind the campsite. You can easily get to Hossegor by bike and of course, home again, but be careful if cycling after drinking! Of course we don’t recommend you cycle if you are under the influence!
Cycling is a great way to keep fit and helps your surfing; cycling strengthens your legs and excercises your lungs as well as your core. So get on your bike, and get fit out of the water as well as in it!
Fun in France
Aug 26th
Check out Kelly Slater on one of the bigger days in 2007! Don’t worry we won’t be surfing in waves this big!
It’s not long now till we head off to South West France for our France Surf Holiday, for hopefully some better weather and surf than we’ve had here! Cornwall has been disappoining to say the least! We’ve had a partcularly bad run of strong on-shore winds and a lack of any groundswell. The best we’ve had has been around 9 seconds wave period and a couple of foot wave height.
South West France will be better as they have much better (warmer) air and sea temperatures and will be getting better waves due to it’s positioning in the Bay of Biscay.
To join us from as little as £342 for a week of camping and surfing, see our France page for details.
Looking good for our France Surf Holiday 2010
Aug 18th

We are looking forward to our September Surf Holiday to France this year in Seignosse, South West France. Miles of golden sandy beaches, great surf, sunshine and good company! The french wine and food aren’t bad either! We are booking up fast but have a few places left for anyone who is interested.
Checking out the surf report yesterday it’s looking very warm there right now; in the high 20Cs and supposed to be 33C on Sunday! Water temperature is 22C, so pack a shortie or even some board shorts for those hardier types. The surf is looking better than here for sure! The winds are lighter and the surf is therfore cleaner and they are getting a bit more swell than us.
Interesting surfing knowledge; ……..down in South West France they usually get more swell with a bit more punch because the swell has come from deeper water and does not have the continental shelf slowing it down. In the West of the UK we have slightly slower waves as they hit the shelf and lose a bit of speed.
France Surf Holiday September 9th to 29th
Aug 11th

Now we are getting really desperate!! It’s been weeks of blown out windswell here in cloudy Cornwall! Seems like the worst conditions for surfing for ages! Summer is never very good for surfing conditions, but this is taking the biscuit!!
Never fear though…., you can book a surf holiday with us to sunny South West France (see the above pic of sunset surfing) and have a ball on the French beach breaks. We stay in a lovely campsite minutes from the golden sandy beaches and help you to surf better with tips and coaching advice from our fully qualified surf coaches and tour guides. Read more about it on our France holiday page.
