Home sweet home
We are back home after a great surf holiday to Morocco. We had some great waves, had some hot sun, and met some great people we’ll stay in touch with. We’ll put some piccys up on the website soon. Next trip France in September!
Hot, sunny, and great waves
Our Morocco surf holiday today is hot hot hot! I actually stayed out of the sun today it was so hot! Surf good as per usual. Off to eat in Taghazout tonight. Should be good. The food is always good there.
Hot hot hot surf holidays!!!
Hot hot hot yesterday. Surf on Anchors was small and super-clean in the morning. Got a
few people in there for a few waves.
Adam and Sam have slight shoulder muscle strains so are having to take some time out from surfing. Forecast is looking good for the next week; small to medium surf and hot.
My leash broke on [...]
Surfing the web
Surfing has become more mainstream than ever before. Surfing is barging into popular culture and knocking football off its top spot as a sport people desire to master and excel at. Images of surfing can be found now on adverts for new shopping centres - see St Austell’s White River complex, and even adverts on [...]
5 star
We had a nice walk out on the North Coast on Tuesday with our little man. He enjoyed all of it from the comfort of his pushchair. He actually slept the whole way, but we imagine he would have enjoyed it,… if he was awake! I struggled to keep the 3-wheeler pram on the path [...]
Not so big Wednesday
After all the hype of the various on-line websites predicting a massive 10ft plus swell, we experienced something more tame today. The cribber did break, but not as big as would have been liked. There were a few surfers getting towed into it, and a couple of surfers trying to paddle into it, but the [...]
Small and clean on a Bourdaines dawny
Had a lovely home cooked pasta last night, and today we got up early for another dawny. It was great surf for our learners with 1-2ft and clean, but a small wave period of around 6 seconds.
It’s been only us in the water at Bourdaines on these early surfs, so it has proved worthwhile to [...]
3ft and clean
Yesterday it was bigger surf on our stretch of beach, and all along the coast here, so we headed down to Capbreton to surf by the harbour. This is a more sheltered spot and we all got some good waves.
This morning we woke up early for a proper dawny, and we were rewarded with 3ft [...]
Sunshine and swell; a great start to Boardmasters Competition
It was a lovely day today filled with sunshine and pumping waves. The start of the official 5 star World Qualifying Series went off really well. In 4-6 ft waves competitors fought it out on North Fistral to gain a place in the next round. An onshore wind stopped conditions from being perfect, but didn’t [...]
No fear when the forecast says no surf!
If you are here in the UK for August, and the surf is flat, here’s some ideas for enjoying the coastline in Cornwall. Bring your wetsuit, you’ll still need it!
Swim in a rock pool
There are some fantastic naturally occurring rockpools to be found along the British coast. In North Cornwall Treyarnon Cove is great for [...]
