I can’t recommend JBay enough for its clean waves and long surfing rides. And holidaying in South Africa is brilliant for its scenery and wildlife. A top-class holiday destination. Goodbye ZA….I can’t wait to come back!!

We had a brilliant surf this morning as usual! Nice clean waves, and pretty glassy 4-8 ft on the faces. Dave had some super-long waves on the longboard, with two or three nice round-house cut-backs as he went down the point, and some nice walls to race along. We had a large pod of dolphins, I guess around 50, came down the points and surfed and played within touching distance! I thought at one point one might pop up and land right on my surf board! They were surfing their way through the line up! This girlie had just finished a super-long ride and was cruising home. What a way to start the day!

This morning we had some fab perfect waves on the dawny on Point; 6ft walls peeling forever, we all had a super session! There were the usual dolphins cruising the lineup. Then we enjoyed a sunny breakfast, and watched lovely lines rolling down the points. Here are some pictures of surfers having fun on Supertubes today.

After a beautiful sunrise over Jeffery’s Bay we headed off to Cape St Francis, just around the Bay. Made famous by the film Endless Summer, the Cape offers world-class waves named by the film – Bruce’s Beauties. We checked out the Cape’s lighthouse and had a coffee at the harbour where these waves are situated. New swell due overnight so we headed back to our base camp in JBay so as not to miss out!

Yesterday it was unusually windy here so we rested our arms, but today was great, the surf was back to fun clean waves. Bev and Dave are getting some great rides on their Jeffrey’s Bay surfing holiday! It was sunny with light winds, nice clean surf 3-4ft, and there were lots of dolphins cruising around again. We might drive up to Cape St Francis over the next couple of days and experience those Endless Summer waves for ourselves!

It was a beautiful morning here on our Jeffrey’s Bay surfing holiday, new perfect swell, waves peeling perfectly down the points, a light offshore breeze, and dolphins cruising around. We were down at Point for the dawny surf at 6:30, and were happy to see those super-clean 4-6 ft faces, and flawless waves peeling for 150 metres. Our guests had some amazing waves… Bev had a couple of screamers, literally!

The beauty of J-Bay is that the surf stays clean all day, and it’s good at any stage of tide, and has fab waves for all abilities. what’s not to like?

It’s in the mid twenties here and after a fantastic day with the elephants and other animals at Addo National Park, we are back to the comfort of our guesthouse overlooking Supertubes. We’ve had yet more small clean waves today, and new swell predicted for tomorrow. Nice!

Today we visited the Addo National park which is full of wonderful animals in their natural habitat. We saw about 100 elephants in all! A really fun day out. This trip is included in the price of our Jeffrey’s Bay surfing holiday.

Two of our guests renewed their wedding vows last night in a romantic flame-lit ceremony on the beach in JBay. Dave organised the ceremony as a surprise for his partner Bev on this their first trip to surf to Jeffreys Bay.
The priest is coincidentally a local surfer who was brought up on a dairy farm, like our Head Coach Dan Rawsthorn!
After the ceremony the happy couple enjoyed a romantic meal together.

Wow! Finally we are here in sunny Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa!!!

Its a long way but not such a hassle of a journey, considering you travel so far. After a very pleasant journey from Newquay to London Heathrow, and a sleep on the overnight flight to Cape Town, I boarded the domestic 1 hour flight to Port Elizabeth, and sat back in my taxi watching the sights on the w hour ride to JBay.

When I arrived it was a lovely 30C! And the surf was a fun 2-3ft. I had a quick surf on Point with some local groms before heading back to the guesthouse for a BBQ and chill.

Our guests arrived Saturday and have been totally stoked by the amazing waves here. Two of our guests Dave and Bev have just got back from surfing Costa Rica and were pleased as punch that the waves are even better than Costa Rica! So you know where to book your next surfing holiday to……Jeffreys Bay!!

We plan to visit Addo National Park on Wednesday and Thursday we get back in the surf for the new swell.
