Feeling blue at Fistral?
Jul 28th
The weather in Cornwall this year has been disappointing to say the least! And forecasters are not rushing to tell us about a BBQ summer at any point now! Check out the Fistral Webcam yesterday! Look at the dribble windswell surf too! It’s a disgrace!!

But never fear, you can escape! We are off surfing in Seignosse (near Hossegor), France in September, and you can join us for as little as £342! See our France holiday page for all the details, and check out some of the photos of previous surf tours.
The difference in the weather is quite amazing. Yesterday Seignosse had 21C water temperature and was sunny and hot. The surf was small but clean. Temperatures are due to average 31C next week! Ahhhh, bliss!
So if you’d like to escape the typical English summer, contact us for more information about our fun and fresh surf holidays.
Quiksilver Surf Showdown – August Bank Holiday weekend
Aug 18th

The Quiksilver Surf Showdown at Fistral Beach, Newquay will take place over the August bank holiday weekend; the 29th and 30th of August.
It’s an innovative idea that sees 2 staff from each of the chosen UK & Ireland’s surf shops paired with 2 surfers from the UK’s finest 16 pro’s. These 8 teams will then compete over the two day contest. They will be competing for the chance to win a trip to the Quiksilver Pro France, (we will also be there in September, see our France page for details) and a personalised Gibson Guitar, as well as £500 for the winning surfer.
Also there will be entertainment from local bands. Gibson & Quiksessions “Play on the Beach” Live Gigs.In the run up Quiksilver & Gibson are launching an online contest for local bands to win the chance to play on the Gibson & Quiksessions Stage at the event.
Should be fun!
Sunshine and swell; a great start to Boardmasters Competition
Aug 5th

It was a lovely day today filled with sunshine and pumping waves. The start of the official 5 star World Qualifying Series went off really well. In 4-6 ft waves competitors fought it out on North Fistral to gain a place in the next round. An onshore wind stopped conditions from being perfect, but didn’t stop some great surfing! Plus the sun came out for the first time in what seems like a long time, helping to lift the holiday mood.
Tomorrow swell height is forecast to be similar to today, but dropping off after that. So our advice is if you want to see some good surfing, get down to the comp tomorrow! It’s on till Sunday.

Relentless Boardmasters Festival – Tuesday 4th to Sunday 9th August
Jul 25th

This year’s Boardmasters Festival takes place in just over a week’s time. It’ll be held on our doorstep; at Fistral Beach for the surfing, and Watergate Bay for the partying, in Newquay. Highlights of the festival include the Men’s WQS, live music, skateboarding, and after parties.
The 5 Star Pro Men’s World Qualifying Series (WQS) at Fistral Beach is the main focus of the Relentless Boardmasters festival. The contest will feature some of the world’s best surfers, hoping to win and scoop the prize of $120,000. The event starts on the 5th, but the qualifying event will be on Tuesday 4th August.
This will be a great build up to when we watch the ASP World Tour in France in September when we go on our France Surf Trip.
