Great run of sunshine and surf

0

It’s getting a little samey, but we can’t help saying how great it is in the sun and the surf! We have had some great days in the sea and a delicious BBQ last night at the surf camp. Our France surf holiday continues till the 29th September 2010.

World Tour and fun in the surf

Last night we had a great BBQ, and a great day watching the ASP World Tour. It’s all systems go for the Tour. We have been at the beach surfing alongside the pro’s, and watching them at Hossegor in the comp. We are off to Biarritz today to surf and hang out. It’s great weather again, sunny and hot. See the latest Tour info on the ASP website.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms, weather clearing

It was rain, rain, rain last night. About 1 inch of rain fell overnight accompanied by thunder and lightning. Luckily in our camp we have pitched our tents on a higher piece of ground, so we are dry. There are some tents by the lac which were floating around this morning! Nightmare for them! We shall avoid camping by the lac! Luckily this type of storm is rare, and the rest of the trip is forecast to brighten up and return to the usual sunny and settled weather we have got used to.

I’ve just been to get some fresh breakfast pastries and bread from the supermarket as I do every morning. When I left camp everyone was still in bed, so I left quietly. I’ve now dropped the provisions back at the camp and I’m off to Biarritz airport to pick up my sister who is staying for a week, and is driving the minibus home at the end of the trip.

Bonjour to the ASP World Tour

Had a great day today enjoying the sunshine. The surf was a bit blown out this morning, but the beach was hot and lovely. Going down to Capbreton this evening for a sunset surf as it’s more sheltered there for our learners. It was about 4ft here in Bourdaines today.

The World Tour bandwagon has arrived in town and has set up their stand opposite the bank we are surfing on Bourdaines beach. We only pick the best locations to surf obviously! Follow the action at the ASP World Tour website.  They start officially on the 23rd September. We’ll probably see them practising on the peaks from Monday as the current leg as Trestles, California concludes on Saturday.
