The first heat of the main event is ON at les Gravieres, South West France! They also surf at some of our favourite spots from our France Surf Holiday – Seignosse, Capbreton, and Hossegor. The beautiful beach breaks of Hossegor, les Bourdaines and Seignosse, where we hold our annual France Surf Holiday, will soon host the ASP World Tour where the top 34 surfers will battle it out for the title. With only four events left in the 2011 season the title race is hotting up!

The top 5 rankings are as follows:

2     Owen Wright          AUS
3     Joel Parkinson        AUS
4     Adriano De Souza BRA
5     Josh Kerr                AUS

Jeremy Flores (FRA) will have home ground advantage. Like every year, the event will also host the World Final of the Quiksilver King of the Groms, gathering 18 of the best under 16 surfers in the World.

Global Surf crew home today

The Global Surf Adventures team are home after a great September surfing in South West France. It has been an amazing France surf holiday with lots of sun, really warm weather, and lots of surfing. Some really big days were accompanied by some small and clean days too. Thanks to everyone who came and enjoyed this beautiful area of South West France with us. We hope to see you again soon. Our next holiday is to Jeffrey’s Bay, South Africa in May 2012.

Afternoon surf on the menu

We didn’t have our usual dawny surf this morning, as conditions were not suitable. There was some thunder, but the rain has just missed us. We will be surfing this afternoon as the swell has dropped now to about 3ft, so there should be a good little wave at les Bourdaines later.

We had a good time surfing at Cotes des Basques yesterday and it was really hot and sunny.
It’s the World Cup Rugby on in a minute – New Zealand Vs France so everyone is going to the clubhouse to watch the game. Love to everyone back in the UK and see you soon!

Really good to meet you at Seignosse on our France surf holiday, and thanks for your comments. You might not like to hear this but it’s nice and warm here in France and the surf has gone big and clean at les Bourdaines, but we got a nice 3-4ft clean surf at low tide just north of the pier for a great surf!! Looking forward to catching up again back in rainy old Newquay!

Awaiting tomorrow’s surf

It was a cool and breezy morning this morning at Seignosse, South West France, but we are awaiting some good surf and weather from tomorrow. We are a bit sad as this is the last week of our holiday! We have had the best weather ever and some really good surf in between the big days!What a great France surf holiday!

I shall be sad to leave, but am looking forward to seeing my lovely pregnant wife Lauren, and my little boy Joshua, who is 2 next week!

Lay day from surfing today

After all the good weather we’ve been having here, we don’t mind a bit of Cornish drizzle and onshore winds! So today we had a lay day from surfing, and might do the same tomorrow. With good weather and smaller surf due to return after that, we should be revived and ready to surf again on our France surf holiday 2011!
