On our France surf holiday we travel to Seignosse, SW France. Our surf camp is nestled under tall pines, close to the beach, and we surf the beast beach breaks along this coast. There are miles of white sandy beaches to sunbathe and surf. It really is a surfers paradise!

On our South Africa surf holiday to Jeffrey’s Bay we surf the legendary point breaks of Jeffrey’s Bay, and stay in a beautiful guest house overlooking the cape with direct access to the beach. The 2011 Extreme Academy English National Surfing Championships will run at Watergate Bay from the 30th April to the 2nd May. This one-day event will see surfers from all over England, as well as our local talented bunch battle it out for the National Titles

Surfers will contest in three divisions; Open, Ladies and Longboard, and organisers will choose the best day of the 3 over the weekend to hold the competition. The contest will form the basis on which the selection will be made for the English surfing team to compete in the European Surfing Championships in Ireland in September.

Jayce Robinson (Open), Ben Skinner (Longboard) and Sarah Beardmore (Ladies) will be defending their 2010 titles at Watergate Bay. St Ives surfer Jayce Robinson became one of the youngest ever English champions, aged just 20.

Our surf camp is well equipped and we provide everything you need to feel right at home. As well as new tents and air beds our surf camp has a large marquee set up for dining and socialising, gas hobs and BBQ cooking facilities, and much more.

Our surf trips are chilled out fun. You will meet new friends who share a passion for surfing, and learn new surfing skills from our friendly professional, full qualified surf coaches and tour guides.

At our surf camp the emphasis is surfing! We get you in the water as much as possible, so you can learn and improve your surfing techniques. And importantly, unlike other camps, we don’t charge you for surf coaching or limit your included coaching hours. So you can make the most of our 35 years international surfing experience!

We thought as the surf is flat we could write a few articles on how to surf. Obviously we can’t teach you to surf in just a few words, but we can tell you about the basics, which you can put into practise when the surf is up.

Before you try surfing you should be fairly fit. Sounds obvious, but surfing involves all your muscles, stamina, and agility. You need to be mentally fit too. In the water you need to make quick decisions about what to do next, in order to get your wave, and stay safe.

Running, cycling, swimming and any form of resistance work are all great ways to build up your fitness and paddling muscles for surfing. Yoga is great for balance and flexibility. Advice from all our surf coaches is that you should be able to swim at least 50 metres in open water.

Unfortunately this weekend the clouds filled the sky and the surf went flat. Yesterday we had a few weak waves at Fistral, but nothing like Friday. Wish we lived in J-Bay where there are clean point break waves waves pretty much every day from April to September on the many awesome point breaks of Jeffrey’s Bay South Africa. Come with us on our big surf adventure holiday in May 2012 and enjoy the surf holiday of a lifetime, surfing some of the most perfect point breaks on the planet.

J-Bay and the supertubes are one of the world’s best point breaks. They give the world’s top surfers the perfect opportunity to show off their best moves.

Kelly Slater moved smoothly into round 3 chasing his 10th world title this year. The young guns looked impressive as well; with Dane Reynolds and Jordy Smith smoothly through to round 3 as well. It looks like it’ll be running live all day today. It’s a bit smaller than yesterday, but still really good waves. Tomorrow’s swell forecast for J-Bay is picking up again.

We’ve just uploaded some of our Morocco surf holiday photos to the galleries page.

The 2010 trip was a good one. We had some big surf days, but we also had some good smaller days. Most days the surf was head high or bigger on the big days. Most years we’ve had small surf in January, so this was a bit different than normal. We managed to get everybody out back at some point in their trip, and they enjoyed the challenge! We also had a great trip out to Imsouane and got some great waves there.

We had a front row seat as usual to watch the drama’s unfolding at Anchor Point! People coming in on the rocks, coming off on the rocks, dinging their boards, getting washed up on the rocks, etc etc!

Now looking forward to France this June and September!
