2-3 ft and clean!!

We are into a spell of nice settled weather now with hot sunny days, and clean small to medium size ground swells rolling in. The next week promises waist to head high surf.

With the unusually wet period of weather now behind us everything is green and the local wheat crops promise to be the best in years.

Beth, Jason and Lyn got on the surf this morning on Mysteries Beach. They all got some really fun waves and were in for hours!

This afternoon they did it all over again on Panoramas beach, and arrived back at the apartment ready for a drink.

Lisa had a good surf on Mysteries beach break , and stood up many times on her board! She’s riding an 8’4″ minimal, which she has fallen in love with!

cockle-pickers-12th-jan

Mornings are not just a time for surfers on a dawny, they are also very busy periods for the Moroccans here. Women cockle pickers patrol the shore, taking advantage of the very low spring tide which has exposed more rocks than normal. Fishermen are also active, they head out in their small fishing boats to sea. This morning we are having tea and coffee and watching the sun rise and the tide come back up to a level where Steve-O and Arran will get in to surf. There are a couple of desperados out on the Point already, but they really should wait for the right stage of tide!
