Today we all had a good surf on Panoramas. Then this afternoon we had everyone out back at Mysteries beach break. The surf was 6-8ft on the faces so they were all brave to get out, and get back! Tonight we are off to the village for dinner. Sadly we have some people leaving tomorrow [...]
It sounds like an episode of Scooby Doo, but it’s actually a reef off Mysteries beach here in Morocco that creates a lovely right hand wave to surf. It is great fun, and has seen many casualties as people take off too close and end up either on the rock or get washed over it! Mainly scraped skin [...]
Our Morocco surf holiday today is hot hot hot! I actually stayed out of the sun today it was so hot! Surf good as per usual. Off to eat in Taghazout tonight. Should be good. The food is always good there.
Surfing has become more mainstream than ever before. Surfing is barging into popular culture and knocking football off its top spot as a sport people desire to master and excel at. Images of surfing can be found now on adverts for new shopping centres - see St Austell’s White River complex, and even adverts on [...]
Big wave surfing
Big waves and big wave riding has been much more in the media spotlight due to some amazing footage of huge waves around the world being ridden. But the big change that has happened in the world of big wave riding is the introduction of tow–in surfing. Tow-in surfing is where you are [...]
We had a nice walk out on the North Coast on Tuesday with our little man. He enjoyed all of it from the comfort of his pushchair. He actually slept the whole way, but we imagine he would have enjoyed it,… if he was awake! I struggled to keep the 3-wheeler pram on the path [...]
After all the hype of the various on-line websites predicting a massive 10ft plus swell, we experienced something more tame today. The cribber did break, but not as big as would have been liked. There were a few surfers getting towed into it, and a couple of surfers trying to paddle into it, but the [...]
It was rain, rain, rain last night. About 1 inch of rain fell overnight accompanied by thunder and lightning. Luckily in our camp we have pitched our tents on a higher piece of ground, so we are dry. There are some tents by the lac which were floating around this morning! Nightmare for them! We [...]
Had a great day today enjoying the sunshine. The surf was a bit blown out this morning, but the beach was hot and lovely. Going down to Capbreton this evening for a sunset surf as it’s more sheltered there for our learners. It was about 4ft here in Bourdaines today.
The World Tour bandwagon has arrived [...]
Had a lovely home cooked pasta last night, and today we got up early for another dawny. It was great surf for our learners with 1-2ft and clean, but a small wave period of around 6 seconds.
It’s been only us in the water at Bourdaines on these early surfs, so it has proved worthwhile to [...]
